About Maestro Nicholas Palmer
Nicholas Palmer is a celebrated conductor and music director, currently leading the Lafayette Symphony in Indiana, the North Charleston Pops in South Carolina, and serving his 25th season with the Evening Under the Stars Festival Orchestra in Massachusetts. A recipient of the prestigious Helen M. Thompson Award from the League of American Orchestras, Palmer has enjoyed a distinguished career, including acclaimed recordings with the London Philharmonic at Abbey Road Studios. Known for his dynamic leadership, he has conducted top orchestras across the U.S. and internationally, including in Europe, Mexico, and Latin America. A native of Hingham, Massachusetts, Palmer is a Harvard graduate with advanced degrees in orchestral conducting and additional studies at the Juilliard School and prestigious international programs. This season, he proudly serves as Artistic Advisor and Principal Guest Conductor of the Altoona Symphony Orchestra.
